On this day, 240,531 candidates nationwide took the local government official exams at 593 testing centers, and 55,338 candidates took the local education office official exams at 109 testing centers.
In Daegu, 13,073 candidates are putting their utmost effort to overcome the average competition ratio of 17 to 1 at 28 testing centers for this public recruitment, which selects 765 candidates across 25 job categories. In Gyeongbuk Province, the exams were conducted at 38 testing centers across 7 regions including Gumi and Andong. The number of applicants was 18,223, showing an average competition ratio of 9.0 to 1.

View original imageIn preparation for the exam, Gyeongbuk Province strictly adhered to pre-exam disinfection and compliance with testing center manuals according to the 'Local Government Public Official New Recruitment Exam Quarantine Management Measures' announced at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (CDSCH) meeting. Candidates showing symptoms during the fever check were allowed to take the exam separately in designated provisional testing rooms at each testing center, and after the exam, professional companies were commissioned to carry out disinfection and sterilization of key facilities such as classrooms and restrooms.
On the day before the exam, the 12th, Gyeongbuk Governor Lee Cheol-woo visited Gumi City’s Geumoh Technical High School, the nursing job category testing site, to conduct a preliminary inspection of overall exam preparations including COVID-19 quarantine measures to ensure the safety of candidates.
