Seongnam City, Nationwide First to Operate 59 Lifelong Learning Courses 'Online'
[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province will open and operate all 59 lifelong learning programs online starting from the 15th.
Seongnam City is the first among 226 basic local governments nationwide to open all citizen courses related to lifelong learning online.
Short-term courses include 44 subjects such as home fashion, barista certification, Korean cuisine cooking technician, YouTube solo broadcasting, cooking for myself, professional organizing and storage, and modern ink wash and color painting, and will be operated for 12 weeks.
Long-term courses include 15 subjects such as home bakery, beauty technician, confectionery and baking technician, Western cuisine cooking technician, floral decoration technician, and certified real estate agent, and will be operated for 20 weeks.
The city uploads pre-recorded lecture videos, recorded by instructors at the Lifelong Learning Center in Yatap-dong, Bundang-gu, or at the instructors' personal studios, to Band according to the lecture schedule or broadcasts live video classes in real time.
Learners can participate in classes by attending lectures at home according to the lecture schedule and asking questions and receiving answers from the instructors.
