Violinist Imarisol and Soprano Kim Seonghye, Lotte Concert Hall Audience-Free Online Performance
June 15 & 24 Lotte Munhwajaedan 'Music Keeps Performance'
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Violinist Imarisol and soprano Kim Seong-hye will take the stage for Lotte Cultural Foundation's 'Music Keeps Going.' Music Keeps Going is a no-audience online concert support project organized by the Lotte Cultural Foundation to revitalize performances that have been subdued due to the spread of COVID-19 and to create a space where performers and audiences unite through music. It supports performance stages for performance groups of fewer than 10 Korean nationals residing in Korea and individual artists.
In May, 'Special Trio,' 'Jo Jae-hyuk and Friends: Lee Myung-joo & Seo Hyung-min,' 'Kang Hyo-ji & MAG,' and 'Ensemble Taeri' performed at Lotte Concert Hall, and two teams are scheduled to perform in June.
Violinist Imarisol will perform a complete violin sonata recital at 3 p.m. on the 15th, and soprano Kim Seong-hye will hold a no-audience online concert titled 'Healing Hour' at 5 p.m. on the 24th.
Imarisol will perform the complete Brahms violin sonatas along with Eug?ne Ysa?e's Violin Sonata No. 3 'Ballade.' The accompaniment will be by Park Young-sung.
Imarisol graduated top of her class from Yewon School, entered Seoul Arts High School as the top student, and graduated top of her class in the music department's practical exams, receiving the 'Music Award.' She was selected as a soloist for the 'OPUS Virtuoso' series held at the IBK Hall of the Seoul Arts Center and held a solo recital, successfully premiering composer Ryu Jae-jun's Sonata No. 2.
Imarisol said, "Brahms was a representative German composer who devoted his life to creation in solitude. For him, life's hardships and deep sorrow became the driving force to compose profoundly resonant pieces. I hope Brahms' music will be courage and comfort in daily life for many who are quietly enduring the disrupted daily life due to COVID-19. I have prepared the complete Brahms violin sonatas, which convey calm and hopeful melodies."
Soprano Kim Seong-hye will perform Gounod's 'Ave Maria,' Martini's 'Dolcezza,' and Rachmaninoff's 'Vocalise,' accompanied by harpist Park Hye-jung and pianist Kim Ki-kyung.
Kim Seong-hye, regarded as a coloratura soprano with a clear tone, delicate interpretation, and brilliant technique, graduated from the Santa Cecilia National Conservatory in Rome, Italy. Under the guidance of Renata Scotto, she obtained diplomas in opera and vocal performance from the Santa Cecilia Academy. In Korea, she gained attention for her role as the Queen of the Night in the National Opera Company's production of 'The Magic Flute.'
