Chosun University Achieves Top 'A Grade' in University Innovation Support Project
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Chosun University (President Min Youngdon) announced on the 11th that it received the highest grade, 'A grade,' in the first-year annual evaluation of the University Innovation Support Project, organized by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea.
The University Innovation Support Project is a general financial support project by the Ministry of Education that supports a future-oriented creative talent cultivation system through autonomous innovation of universities, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness of universities.
The Ministry of Education conducted this evaluation targeting 143 four-year universities nationwide, and based on the annual performance reports submitted by each university, conducted both qualitative and quantitative evaluations on the first-year project implementation performance.
After the evaluation, universities corresponding to 30% A grade, 50% B grade, and 20% C grade were selected through the final review and confirmation by the project management committee.
Chosun University was recognized for its excellent performance as the goals of the university's mid- to long-term development plan were well linked with the innovation project goals, the first-year project implementation performance aligned with the mid- to long-term development plan, and the outstanding performance of programs in each area.
In particular, the 'Practical Learning-Based Learner-Led Major Design Curriculum - Example of the Department of Smart Mobility Convergence Systems Engineering,' presented as an excellent case, established a university specialization education leading model and received high evaluation for cultivating local talent in preparation for the smart factory construction of the Gwangju-type job project, becoming a driving force for regional society, national development, and growth.
Chosun University will receive a total of 4.434 billion KRW in national funding for the second year of the University Innovation Support Project this year.
This amount includes the previously allocated approximately 3.5 billion KRW plus an additional approximately 850 million KRW as an innovation growth driving incentive based on this selection result.
