Shinhyup Celebrates 60th Anniversary with 'Good Consumption'... Shopping at Traditional Markets Using Onnuri Gift Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Min-young] The National Credit Union Federation of Korea (NACUFOK) has embarked on a 'good consumption' campaign to celebrate its 60th anniversary.
Instead of holding a founding anniversary event, NACUFOK announced on the 10th that it held the 'Good Consumption, Good Sharing' campaign.
To support small business owners and traditional markets struggling due to the economic downturn caused by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), NACUFOK distributed 7,000 Onnuri gift certificates to its executives and employees.
On the 9th, they visited Daejeon Jungang Market and conducted a street campaign to revitalize the traditional market.
On that day, executives and employees led the promotion of traditional market consumption by shopping with Onnuri gift certificates at the market. Comedienne Yoon Hyo-dong hosted programs such as a song matching quiz to share hope with market merchants. In particular, NACUFOK contributed support by delivering a total of 10,000 dental masks and 'Eobuba Boxes' containing the NACUFOK mascot Eobuba dolls and piggy banks to merchants exhausted from the heat, as a measure to prevent COVID-19.

Kim Yoon-sik, Chairman of NACUFOK, said, “Since traditional markets are facing difficulties due to the recent economic downturn caused by COVID-19, NACUFOK had to step forward to share even a small part of the heavy burden of small business owners. I hope this event will serve as a new driving force to invigorate the local economy by stimulating consumption starting from traditional markets.”
