4 Additional COVID-19 Cases Confirmed in Security Support Command (Comprehensive)

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu] Four additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported at the Defense Security Support Command, a direct unit of the Ministry of National Defense where a confirmed case was previously identified.
According to the Ministry of National Defense on the 10th, four officers working at the Security Support Command headquarters in Gwacheon tested positive for COVID-19. This brings the total number of confirmed cases related to the Security Support Command to five.
The Ministry of National Defense explained that after Major A was initially confirmed positive the day before, epidemiological investigations and PCR tests were conducted on 77 related personnel, including 55 close contacts, resulting in the identification of additional confirmed cases.
As more confirmed cases have emerged, the military is conducting comprehensive testing of the unit members. The infection route of Major A, the first confirmed case, remains unclear. Among the four newly confirmed cases, three were identified as having dined with Major A.

Due to the confirmed cases related to the Security Support Command, as of 10 a.m. on the 10th, the total number of additional confirmed COVID-19 cases within the military stands at 58 (17 under management, 41 recovered).
According to health authorities, 146 individuals are in quarantine, and under the military's own standards, 1,651 are under preventive quarantine.
