Hancom MDS Enters Untact Market with AI-Based Gesture Recognition Technology
Significantly Reducing Gesture Development Costs with Advanced AI Technology
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Hancom MDS, a subsidiary of Hancom, announced on the 10th that it has signed a partnership agreement with Motion Gestures, a Canadian gesture recognition software (SW) specialist company.
Through this contract, Hancom MDS plans to promote the application of gesture recognition solutions in various fields such as automobiles, robots, smart homes, home appliances, wearables, and games, and to enter the domestic contactless service market.
Motion Gestures, a startup established in 2016 in Waterloo, Canada, provides an AI-based gesture recognition solution that allows the configuration of gesture interfaces within minutes without separate programming or data input.
The solution distinguishes the hand's knuckles and joints into 21 points to analyze shapes and movements, recognizing the user's hand patterns. Based on advanced AI, it significantly reduces gesture development time and costs, and dramatically improves the accuracy and sophistication of gesture recognition.
