POSCO E&C Displays Printed Art Steel Plates of Famous Paintings at Construction Site in Downtown Seoul
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] POSCO Engineering & Construction has installed ‘POSCO Art’ steel panels printed with works by famous artists on construction site fences in downtown Seoul.
Recently, POSCO Engineering & Construction displayed POSCO Art steel panels printed with Van Gogh’s "Sunflowers" and Klimt’s "The Kiss" on the fences of three sites: Gaepo Woosung 9th remodeling site, Singil 3rd district reconstruction site, and Nonhyeon-dong apartment complex site.
POSCO Art is a high-resolution inkjet printed steel panel printed using the inkjet printing technology of POSCO Steel Plate, a specialized color steel plate group company, on PosMAC, a highly corrosion-resistant steel developed by the global steel company POSCO.
It has more than four times the resolution of ordinary printed steel plates. Various patterns and textures such as marble, wood, and fabric can be realized on the steel plate, making it widely used as interior and exterior materials for buildings such as offices and apartments.

Until now, existing construction site fences installed for safety were mainly composed of safety slogans or plain designs, which have been criticized for being dull and detracting from the urban landscape.
A POSCO Engineering & Construction official said, “After installing POSCO Art at construction sites, citizens passing by have stopped briefly to appreciate the masterpieces or take photos, adding vitality to the city center,” and added, “We hope it will serve as a stimulus to the downtown area, which has been stagnant due to the novel coronavirus.”
