Yongin City 'Discovers' Public Property Worth Approximately 3 Billion Won Including Land
[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province has discovered public property worth approximately 3 billion KRW.
On the 10th, Yongin City announced that through its public property discovery efforts, it completed ownership transfer registration for 14 land parcels totaling 2,433㎡ located in Suji-gu and Giheung-gu, valued at about 3 billion KRW.
Additionally, the city won a lawsuit confirming ownership of one forest land parcel measuring 15,669㎡ in Baegam-myeon, Cheoin-gu, valued at approximately 700 million KRW, where the owner was absent, and is currently proceeding with registration procedures to secure ownership.
Since March, the city has been conducting a public property discovery project to reclaim ownership of lands that were incorporated into public projects such as roads and parks, for which compensation was paid but remain registered under private names.
Alongside this, the city is also promoting ownership transfers for donated lands that have been vested without compensation but whose ownership has not yet been transferred.
To this end, the city established a Public Property Discovery Team in January, investigating all public properties, collecting evidence for lands without ownership transfer, conducting legal reviews, and pursuing lawsuits to actively secure ownership.
The city utilizes cadastral computer systems and spatial information systems to extract data on relevant lands, searches archives for permit documents, conducts field surveys, and holds meetings with related agencies to secure ownership through various methods.
