Joining the COVID-19 Boom... Emart24 Launches Its Own Oral Care Products
Booster Dental Care Launch
4 New Products Released... "Affordable Prices"
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] As consumer interest in oral care products has increased due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), convenience store Emart24 has launched its own private brand (PB) dedicated to oral care.
On the 10th, Emart24 analyzed oral care product sales from January to May this year and found that sales in this single category increased by 18% compared to the same period last year. During this period, sales of toothbrushes and toothpaste increased by 11%, while sales of oral care products such as mouthwash, dental floss, and interdental brushes increased by 30%, showing a larger growth.
This is interpreted as a result of mask-wearing becoming routine and prolonged due to COVID-19, leading to increased interest not only in basic oral care products like toothbrushes and toothpaste but also in portable self oral care products that allow for more detailed care.
Accordingly, Emart24 launched the PB ‘Booster Dental Care’ and introduced four oral care products. First, they presented ▲Mint-flavored dental floss ▲Interdental brushes ▲Y-shaped handle dental floss ▲Disposable interdental brushes, with plans to expand the product range.
The four new oral care products are priced about 20-30% lower than similar quality manufacturer brand (NB) products. Prices were significantly reduced through direct transactions with manufacturers producing oral care products.
Along with this, they also launched the ‘I’m e’ antibacterial ultra-fine bristle toothbrush 2+1 (2,000 KRW). The toothbrush features specially processed antibacterial ultra-fine bristles of 0.01mm for gentle brushing and is priced at 650 KRW per piece, about 60-70% cheaper than regular brand toothbrushes.
