View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] The United States Forces Korea (USFK) 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command held a change of command ceremony on the morning of the 9th at the Camp Walker Kelly Parade Ground in Daegu.
The event was attended not only by military officials including Major General Shin Sang-gyun, Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Army 2nd Operations Command, but also by prominent local political and social figures such as Daegu Mayor Kwon Young-jin, Daegu City Council Chairperson Bae Ji-sook, Daegu Superintendent of Education Kang Eun-hee, and Chairman of the Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry Lee Jae-ha.
In his inaugural speech, Brigadier General Steven L. Allen expressed strong determination, stating, "We will support the immediate deployment readiness of the Eighth Army, and victory will begin with the 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command." Before assuming command, he served as Deputy Commander of the Army Sustainment Command and is an experienced operations officer who participated in missions such as the Haiti democracy protection operation, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, and Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Simerly, who changed his post to Chief of Logistics for USFK, expressed in his farewell speech, "I am grateful to have spent time with many people in Daegu, my second hometown, and to have learned and grown." He added, "The 19th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, which spans the entire Korean Peninsula, is always in a state of readiness. I appreciate the dedication and efforts of the soldiers."
