AndyForce Develops Rapid Diagnostic Kit Following COVID-19 Molecular Testing
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyungsoo] AndyForce has succeeded in developing a novel coronavirus (COVID-19) 'antigen rapid diagnostic kit'. By possessing both precise molecular diagnostic kits and rapid diagnostic kits related to COVID-19 diagnosis, AndyForce has entered both major markets related to diagnostics.
AndyForce announced on the 9th that following the European CE certification of its COVID-19 molecular diagnostic kit and the start of exports, it has succeeded in developing a COVID-19 antigen rapid diagnostic kit.
The antigen rapid diagnostic kit developed by AndyForce, 'ND COVID-19 Ag', is a new type of diagnostic test kit designed to detect the 'nucleocapsid protein' antigen present in 'SARS-CoV-2' of COVID-19 virus-infected individuals.
AndyForce's rapid diagnostic kit collects specimens from the lower airway and oropharynx of the tester, then tests for COVID-19 antigens to determine infection status on-site within 15 minutes. It enables rapid screening diagnosis of suspected patients in areas where COVID-19 is spreading quickly.
Compared to genetic diagnostic methods that require expensive equipment, reagents, and specialized clinical pathologists to conduct tests, rapid diagnostic kits are cost-effective and preferred in countries without large-scale molecular diagnostic testing infrastructure.
An AndyForce official said, "AndyForce is one of the few domestic companies capable of supplying both molecular diagnostic kits and rapid diagnostic kits," adding, "Molecular diagnostics and rapid diagnostics can be used complementarily depending on the infection progression of confirmed patients, successfully establishing a stable product portfolio."

He continued, "During discussions on exporting molecular diagnostic kits, there were many inquiries about simple diagnostic kits, confirming significant demand," and added, "The rapid diagnostic kit is currently preparing for domestic MFDS export approval and European CE certification, and all certification procedures are expected to be completed by the end of next month."
