Hana Bank Launches Tuition Payment Service via Alipay Registration
[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Kim] Hana Bank announced on the 9th that it will provide tuition payment services for Chinese international students enrolled in domestic universities through a partnership with Alipay, a simple payment service provider.
The "Alipay Tuition Payment Service" allows Alipay users to enter only the Hana Bank virtual account number on the tuition bill via the Alipay website or application (app), enabling immediate verification of whether the university accepts tuition payments and the tuition amount, and allows payment in Chinese yuan.
Previously, Chinese international students faced inconveniences such as paying high remittance fees from their home country or receiving remittances domestically and paying the university directly to cover tuition fees. With the launch of this service, tuition payment has become convenient and simple.
A Hana Bank official stated, "In the era of non-face-to-face (untact) services, this non-face-to-face payment service enhances payment convenience for overseas students, and universities that attract international students can receive accurate remittances without errors in payment amounts, making it an excellent example of global K-finance." He added, "Through this, we will continue to expand various non-face-to-face financial services that showcase the excellence of Korean finance to the world."
