Yangcheon-gu, Gathering Restriction Measures for High-Risk Indoor Group Exercise Facilities Including Table Tennis Centers
Restriction Measures on 169 Indoor Group Exercise Facilities Including 28 Table Tennis Centers... Surprise Inspections Conducted, Strict Administrative Actions Such as Fines for Violations of Quarantine Rules
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Kim Soo-young) is implementing a 'gathering restriction' measure on high-risk indoor group exercise facilities vulnerable to mass infections.
As COVID-19 has spread mainly in local table tennis halls, the district announced on the 9th that it will strongly recommend refraining from operating these facilities until June 20 and will enforce gathering restriction measures requiring both operators and users to strictly comply with core quarantine rules if operation is unavoidable.
High-risk indoor group exercise facilities (GX) refer to intense indoor group exercise facilities such as table tennis, Zumba, Tae Bo, spinning, and Pilates. Yangcheon-gu has 169 such facilities, including 28 table tennis halls.
On the 9th, the district plans to dispatch district office staff to visit these businesses and notify them of the gathering restriction measures. For operating businesses, unannounced inspections will be conducted during the period, and strong administrative actions such as fines of up to 3 million KRW will be imposed if quarantine rule violations are detected.
The unannounced inspections will be conducted by inspection teams of two people starting from the 10th until the restrictions are lifted. They will target high-risk indoor group exercise facilities that are not closed. The main inspection items include management of visitor logs, mask-wearing by employees and users, designation of quarantine managers and indoor disinfection, and compliance with social distancing among users.
The district is also considering support measures for business owners facing livelihood difficulties due to administrative measures such as gathering restrictions.
