Korea Technology Signs Exclusive Distribution Agreement for Hand Sanitizers with US MTLD Holdings
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Korea Technology, a KOSDAQ-listed company accelerating exports of K-quarantine products (CEO Shin Yonggu), announced on the 5th that it signed an exclusive distribution contract for hand sanitizers in the United States and Canada with US-based MTLD Holdings, led by Gwen Eckel, who works at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices owned by Warren Buffett, on the 2nd.
Korea Technology plans to gradually supply a total of 30 million hand sanitizers to MTLD. The products with exclusive rights are Nature Science Hand Sanitizer, available in three sizes: 30ml, 300ml, and 500ml.
These products will be supplied throughout the US and Canada, starting from the California area introduced by MTLD headquarters, mainly to about 8,000 medical institutions including hospitals.
MTLD Holdings, the ordering company for this contract, is a company specializing in the development of multipurpose products and marketing promotions, holding a license to participate in US government bids.
Shin Yonggu, CEO of Korea Technology, stated, "If we deliver all 30 million units as planned, we expect to achieve sales of about 110 billion KRW."
Regarding some shareholders' concerns about the lack of contract disclosure, CEO Shin said, "Since sales from Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Construction are recorded on a consolidated basis, sales have increased significantly, and currently, disclosures cannot be made unless it is a single contract exceeding about 22 billion KRW. We are achieving results not only in the hand sanitizer business but also in all business areas including smartphones, so there is no need to worry."
This contract was reportedly led by Gwen Eckel, who works at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices owned by Warren Buffett. He serves as the CIO (Chief Investment Officer) of MTLD.
He is a Jewish lawyer who has connected transactions involving hotels, real estate, commercial land, and raw materials for the US government, various governments, and companies worldwide. Recently, he also participated in the approximately 7 trillion KRW US real estate sale process conducted by China’s Anbang Insurance and Mirae Asset Group.

A company official said, "Since MTLD Holdings, the ordering company, holds a license for US government product bids, we believe it will be possible to promote exports of various health products in the future. As there is high demand for hand sanitizers and other products in the US government, the US, and Canada, we will strive to supply products stably."
