[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Hyung-gil] A insurance planner working at the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Yeoksam Branch in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), leading to the closure of 10 floors in the building.
According to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance on the 3rd, an insurance planner working at the Yeoksam Branch located on the 20th floor of the Yeoksam Building (114 Teheran-ro) near Gangnam Station tested positive in a COVID-19 test conducted the previous day.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance acknowledged the confirmed case on the 3rd and decided to close floors 11 through 20 of the building for three days.
The infected insurance planner had been at work until the 1st and did not come to work on the day of the test, the 2nd.
It is reported that 40 to 50 people worked on the 20th floor where the confirmed case was found.
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance instructed employees working at the same branch to work from home in self-quarantine for one or two weeks (those working on the same floor for two weeks).
Floors 1 through 10 of this building are occupied by the Seocho, Yeoksam, and Samsung Tax Offices (Integrated Government Building).

An official from the National Tax Service said, "Except for essential personnel, employees have been instructed to work from home," and added, "The timing for the tax office to resume normal operations will be decided after the epidemiological investigation."
