View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] It has been confirmed that Kang Hoon (19), known as 'Buddha,' an accomplice of Jo Joo-bin (24), the operator of the Telegram 'Doctor's Room' who produced and distributed sexual exploitation materials, has been expelled from the university he was attending. This is the first case of disciplinary action taken by a school against a major Nth Room suspect who was still a student.
According to a compilation of Asia Economy's coverage on the 3rd, Seoul National University of Science and Technology, where Kang was enrolled, recently held a student guidance committee meeting and decided to expel him. Kang, born in 2001, was a freshman who entered the school this year. He is currently on trial, charged with assisting Jo in producing sexual exploitation videos, promoting the Doctor's Room, and managing its profits.
According to Seoul National University of Science and Technology's disciplinary regulations, the school can discipline students who damage the school's reputation off-campus, exhibit poor character and behavior with no hope of repentance, or engage in conduct inappropriate for a student. The highest level of discipline is expulsion, which includes recommended expulsion and ordered expulsion. Kang received an ordered expulsion from the school. The school also informed Kang's guardians of this decision on the 29th of last month.
A representative from Seoul National University of Science and Technology said, “Because this is a sensitive issue, the decision process was not easy for the school, but after careful consideration, we decided to impose an ordered expulsion.”

View original imageStarting with Kang, other Nth Room suspects who are students are also highly likely to be expelled from their schools one after another. Moon Hyung-wook (24), the original creator of the Nth Room known as 'GodGod,' who attended the National Hankyung University, is also facing disciplinary action. However, the disciplinary process for Moon is expected to be delayed more than initially anticipated.
The university originally planned to hold an internal disciplinary committee meeting soon to decide on Moon's punishment. However, the disciplinary committee has yet to convene. The university requested the police to share the investigation results but was informed that they could not disclose such information. The Gyeongbuk Police Agency, which is handling the investigation, informed Hankyung University on the 19th of last month that “due to issues such as the disclosure of suspect facts, the police cannot reveal details of the charges.”
Accordingly, Hankyung University plans to proceed with disciplinary procedures by finding legal grounds to impose sanctions without separately receiving the investigation results. The university has sent a written request to the detention center where Moon is incarcerated, asking him to submit a written statement related to the case.
A representative from Hankyung University said, “There is a regulation that allows disciplining students who cause social disturbances, and we plan to proceed with disciplinary procedures based on this. We are also monitoring how other schools in similar situations are responding.”
