25 Junior Colleges to Offer Lifelong Vocational Education
Ministry of Education and Korea Research Foundation Announce Results of Leading Colleges for Post-Secondary Advancement Selection
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Opportunities to receive lifelong vocational education at junior colleges are being expanded.
The Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea announced the selection results of new support universities for leading junior colleges for further education on the 3rd. Following 15 institutions last year, 10 more were selected this year.
Leading junior colleges for further education support adult learners based on operating various curricula according to regional community conditions. Learners include employees, self-employed individuals, small business owners, and vulnerable groups.

In the metropolitan area, Kyungmin College, Daelim College, and Hanyang Women's College were selected; in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, Gumi College and Daegu Science College; and in the Chungcheong-Gangwon area, Korea National University of Arts and Hallym Sacred Heart University were selected. Approximately 1 billion KRW in project funds is provided annually per school.
