View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City and Yeongdo District will hold a business agreement ceremony with about 200 citizens on the 3rd at the Daetongjeonsubang Creative Industry Space to realize a 'Clean Energy City.'
Last August, the city announced the Busan New and Renewable Energy Vision and Strategy, aiming to increase the power self-sufficiency rate through new and renewable energy to 20% by 2030 and to 50% by 2050.
Accordingly, the city is the first among 16 basic local governments to sign a joint agreement with Yeongdo District to realize a clean energy city and promote the transition to clean and safe future energy through a vision proclamation.
A total of about 200 participants, including local energy-related organizations such as Korea Electric Power Corporation, Korea Energy Agency, Technopark, universities, as well as civic groups and companies, agreed to join forces.
The main events of the day include a pre-performance by the Fusion Gugak Band, Yeongdo District's participation agreement ceremony for realizing a clean energy city in Busan, joint practice agreement ceremony with institutions and organizations, the inaugural proclamation ceremony of Yeongdo as an eco-friendly energy leading city, citizen participation performance event, and policy promotion booth operation.

Park Seong-hoon, Deputy Mayor for Economy of Busan City, said, “We will gradually diversify the energy policy, which has been centered on nuclear power plants, into eco-friendly energy such as solar power, wind power, and fuel cells, and create new growth engines such as local job creation through fostering related industries.”
