Israel Estimates Up to 270,000 COVID-19 Infections
[Asia Economy Reporter Sung Kiho] Tests conducted by the Israeli government revealed that the actual number of people infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is much higher than the confirmed cases.
On the 2nd (local time), Israeli media reported that the Israeli Ministry of Health recently conducted the first antibody test by collecting blood samples from 1,700 Israelis, estimating that the number of infected individuals in Israel ranges from 180,000 to 270,000.
This figure is at least 10 times the cumulative confirmed COVID-19 cases in Israel (17,219 as of that morning) and accounts for 2 to 3% of the entire Israeli population.
