On the afternoon of the 2nd, the Justice Foundation posted a notice titled "Recruiting an Accounting Staff Member" on its website and announced the job opening.
The Justice Foundation is seeking one staff member responsible for accounting and general affairs. The qualifications listed in the announcement include ▲ those who sympathize with the purpose of the Justice Foundation's activities for resolving the Japanese military sexual slavery issue ▲ holders of accounting-related certifications and those with experience are preferred. Applications will be accepted until the 15th of this month.
The Justice Foundation has recently been embroiled in controversy over poor accounting and allegations of embezzlement of donations. Following a series of complaints, it is under investigation by the prosecution, and accounting staff members of both the Justice Foundation and the Korean Council for Women Drafted for Military Sexual Slavery by Japan (Jeongdaehyeop) have been questioned sequentially at the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office. It is not yet known whether this recruitment announcement is due to the departure of accounting staff.
Civic groups have filed complaints with the prosecution against former Justice Foundation chairperson and Democratic Party lawmaker Yoon Mee-hyang and other related parties on charges including fraud, embezzlement, and breach of trust. There are more than ten complaints filed against Yoon and related parties of the Justice Foundation and the Korean Council (the predecessor of the Justice Foundation), who are currently under investigation by the prosecution.
