Following Lotte Holdings, Lotte Shopping Introduces Weekly Work-from-Home Policy
To Over 3,200 Headquarters Employees
From Department Stores to E-commerce, Marts, and LOBs
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] Following Lotte Holdings, Lotte Shopping is the second company within the Lotte Group to introduce a once-a-week work-from-home system.
Lotte Shopping announced on the 2nd that starting this month, about 3,200 headquarters employees will be able to work from home once a week. Employees can choose one weekday to work from home according to their work situation.
By business division, the department stores and the Super & e-commerce divisions introduced the system on the 1st, the Mart division will implement it early this month, and the Health & Beauty (H&B) store LOBS will start work-from-home from the 8th.
Earlier, Lotte Holdings became the first group affiliate to introduce a mandatory once-a-week work-from-home system starting from the 25th of last month. This was a follow-up measure after Lotte Group Chairman Shin Dong-bin, who had worked from home in both Japan and Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic, positively evaluated the work-from-home experience at an executive meeting last month and ordered a change in working methods in response to changes in the work environment.
It is known that Chairman Shin Dong-bin himself chose Wednesday of the last week of May, the first week of the Lotte Holdings work-from-home system, to work from home. During work-from-home days, he plans to hold video conferences with overseas business sites.
