Yangcheon-gu Reports 28th and 29th COVID-19 Confirmed Cases
The 28th confirmed case is a teenage male A residing in Mok1-dong, related to an overseas entrant... The 29th confirmed case is a female B in her 50s residing in Sinwol3-dong, related to a church in Michuhol-gu, Incheon.
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Yangcheon-gu (District Mayor Kim Soo-young) announced that the 28th and 29th confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) have occurred.
The 28th confirmed case, Mr. A (Mok 1-dong, teenage male), is a student who entered from the United States on the afternoon of May 30. On the morning of the following day, May 31, he developed symptoms such as headache and sore throat, and was tested at the Yangcheon-gu Public Health Center screening clinic. He was confirmed positive that same afternoon.
At around 12:30 a.m. on June 1, he was transferred to Seonam Hospital, a nationally designated hospital. Immediately after the transfer, the health center’s disinfection team conducted and completed disinfection in the Mok 1-dong residential area and its surroundings.
Additionally, Mr. A has two cohabitants who were tested on the morning of June 1 and are currently awaiting results.
The 29th confirmed case, Ms. B (Sinwol 3-dong, female in her 50s), is a confirmed case related to a church located in Michuhol-gu, Incheon. She was tested at the Yangcheon-gu Public Health Center screening clinic on May 31 and confirmed positive on the morning of June 1. Ms. B is scheduled to be transferred to Seonam Hospital, a nationally designated hospital, at around 2:30 p.m. on the same day. After the transfer, disinfection will be conducted in the Sinwol 3-dong residential area and its surroundings.
Ms. B has one cohabitant who is scheduled to be tested today.
The district office plans to promptly and accurately disclose the confirmed patients’ movement paths through the Yangcheon-gu website and SNS (blog, Instagram) as soon as they are confirmed.
With this, the cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Yangcheon-gu has reached 29.

Kim Soo-young, Mayor of Yangcheon-gu, stated, “COVID-19 infection cases can occur unexpectedly anywhere at any time, so it is important to maintain a certain distance between people and wear masks properly in multi-use facilities.” He added, “We ask everyone to strictly adhere to quarantine rules for the safety of ourselves and our local community.”
