Second n-Bang OUT!... Yudonggyun, Mapo District Mayor, Digital Sex Crime Out Campaign
Through the 'IDOO Campaign,' Strengthening the Will to Become Guardians Against Digital Sex Crimes... Pledge Containing the '5 Commandments for Preventing Digital Sex Crimes' to Follow in Daily Life
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yudonggyun) is actively participating in and promoting the "Digital Sex Crime Out 1 Million Signature Campaign" led by Seoul City, amid growing social interest in gender equality issues following incidents such as the Nth Room case.
Called the "IDOO Campaign," this initiative is a public awareness campaign encouraging citizens to actively join the movement to eliminate sex crimes by signing the five commandments for preventing digital sex crimes that should be observed in daily life.
"IDOO" is based on the consent phrase "I DO," which expresses support for digital sex crime victims, combined with "O," meaning companion, symbolizing solidarity with victims.
To realize a "women-friendly city created and enjoyed together," Mapo-gu, which actively gathers local community conditions and residents' policy demands to implement various policies, held a pledge ceremony on the 28th of last month, led by Mayor Yudonggyun, to take the lead in creating a gender-equal and safe world free from digital sex crimes, requiring active participation and support from many to prevent a second Nth Room incident.
Through the pledge ceremony, the district expressed its determination to become guardians against digital sex crimes, pledging not to engage in illegal filming, viewing, or sharing, and clearly recognizing that the victim is not at fault, thereby declaring not to inflict secondary harm on victims, reinforcing its resolve to eradicate digital sex crimes.
Civil servants and residents wishing to participate in the "IDOO Campaign" can check the five commandments for preventing digital sex crimes on the OnSeoulSafe platform, which supports both online and offline participation, and by leaving a comment and name at the bottom of the homepage, they can complete an online pledge form and join the campaign.
