'The Villainess' Ham Chun-ho "Yoo Hee-yeol's Toy First Album Sheet Music Was Almost All Natural Signs"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Hyesoo] On the afternoon of the 30th, KBS2's 'The Villainess' aired a scene where Ham Chun-ho reminisced about the first time he met Yoo Hee-yeol.
That day, Ham Chun-ho, Henry, and Jung Eun-ji showcased a fantastic collaboration without much practice. As Ham Chun-ho started playing the guitar and Jung Eun-ji began singing, Henry immediately picked up his violin and joined the performance. Throughout Jung Eun-ji's singing, Henry repeatedly expressed admiration with phrases like "I like it," drawing attention.
When Jung Eun-ji said, "The moment the violin came in just now was so good," Ham Chun-ho responded, "He's a genius. He's one of our affiliated artists," eliciting laughter. Ham Chun-ho also played Shin Seung-hoon's 'You Reflected in a Smile,' a song he participated in, and shared behind-the-scenes stories: "I witnessed the scene when junior Shin Seung-hoon recorded for the first time. A young man who came up from Daejeon said, 'Please take care of me!' and recorded."
When Jung Eun-ji asked, "Among those currently active, there must be quite a few with a visible history," Ham Chun-ho mentioned Yoo Hee-yeol, saying, "Hee-yeol was originally a classical composer by birth." Yoo Hee-yeol also shared, "The first time I met (Ham Chun-ho) was when I was 20, in a small underground recording studio in Nonhyeon-dong. All the senior musicians who were good at music gathered there. I joined as the youngest, doing chores and cleaning. One day, Ham Chun-ho came by carrying a guitar. Later, when recording Toy's first album, he played the instruments," he said directly.
Ham Chun-ho recalled, "He drew the sheet music in a nonsensical way. I remember the drummer looking at it and throwing the sheet music, saying, 'Either give me another hand or pay me more money.'"
