View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Gmarket, an online shopping site operated by eBay Korea, announced on the 29th that it has delivered a mobile psychological counseling vehicle to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters to support the mental care of firefighters.
On the 28th, Gmarket held a delivery ceremony for the mobile psychological counseling vehicle for firefighters at the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters. Attendees included Ma Jae-yoon, Head of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters; Hong Yoon-hee, Director of Communications Division at eBay Korea; Kim Joo-sung, Team Leader of Gmarket Marketing Team; Hong Joon-sung, Head of the Korea Retired Firefighters Association; and Han Yong-seop, President of the Jeollanam-do Retired Firefighters Association.
The mobile psychological counseling vehicle is scheduled to be used from as early as September in the Fire Agency’s “Visiting Psychological Counseling” program through vehicle purchase, modification, and operation plan finalization. The Visiting Psychological Counseling program is a mental care program for firefighters operated by the Fire Agency, where specialists or psychological counselors visit fire stations directly to provide individual psychological healing counseling and continuous management support.

Meanwhile, since 2017, eBay Korea has supported firefighters with a cumulative amount totaling 2.4 billion KRW through the “Here, Hero” campaign. They provide necessary supplies to each regional fire headquarters, invite firefighters injured on duty to luxury hotels, support firefighters who died without official recognition, invite firefighters to various events, and supply disinfection materials to emergency workers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk responding to COVID-19. In 2018 and 2019, eBay Korea was the first private company to hold a “Firefighter Fire Equipment Idea Contest,” soliciting and awarding ideas for equipment needed in firefighting from firefighters themselves.
