Aton Participates in 'Korea Fintech Week 2020'
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Fintech security company Aton (CEO Kim Jongseo) announced on the 28th that it will participate in the online event ‘Korea Fintech Week 2020.’
Hosted by the Financial Services Commission and the Fintech Support Center, this event will be held online to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Under the theme of ‘Fintech for Open Innovation,’ a core trend in the fintech sector, 147 companies and institutions will participate, featuring special sessions introducing innovative fintech services and an online exhibition program.
During the event, Aton will open an online booth through the Fintech Scale-up Pavilion to introduce Aton’s innovative security and authentication technologies, including the ‘PASS Certificate,’ in a way that general visitors can easily understand. Using the online booth, Aton plans to hold meetings with domestic and international institutions considering the adoption of multi-factor authentication or private certificates to explore cooperation plans for new business.
In addition, to commemorate the Korea Fintech Week Expo, a participation event will be held for visitors for three days from today until the 30th. During the event period, visitors who check Aton’s fintech security solutions applied to mobile banking or securities apps on their smartphones and then enter the event will receive a Starbucks Iced Americano mobile coupon, limited to the first 500 applicants.
Recently, with the passage of the ‘Electronic Signature Act Amendment’ at the National Assembly plenary session, the market expects that various private authentication services, including the ‘PASS Certificate,’ will become more active. Meanwhile, many major domestic banks and securities firms have already introduced Aton’s PKI technology-based private authentication solutions since 2017 to provide convenient mobile financial services to customers.
Also, the ‘PASS Certificate’ service jointly provided by Aton and the three major telecom companies surpassed 13 million issued certificates within one year of its launch. The ‘PASS Certificate’ can be issued in just 3 seconds without downloading a separate app, and after execution, electronic signatures can be made using a 6-digit PIN or biometric authentication, enhancing user convenience. Additionally, by applying Aton’s Secure Element (SE) technology to the certificate, it fundamentally prevents information leakage from external attacks, thereby increasing the security level.
