Gwangju City Produces and Distributes 'Yellow Card' to Prevent Children's Traffic Accidents
Detachable Nighttime Fluorescent Reflective Function for Bags
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 27th that it will produce and distribute a traffic safety promotional item called the "Yellow Card," which features a nighttime fluorescent reflective function that can be attached to and detached from school bags to prevent children's traffic accidents.
The Yellow Card is a policy promoted by Gwangju City reflecting the recent increased social interest in children's traffic safety following the implementation of the Min-sik Act, and is a preventive measure to protect children.
Similar to the yellow card in soccer games, it is a traffic accident prevention promotional item that urges caution for traffic safety.
It was designed with the fact that it is difficult for drivers to spot elementary school students of short stature, using a fluorescent reflective function that reflects sunlight or vehicle headlights, which is expected to increase the distance at which pedestrians are detected during driving and prevent accidents involving children.
Gwangju City plans to distribute 1,000 Yellow Cards during the "Citywide Campaign to Reduce Traffic Accidents" and other events.
