Changwon Mayor Heo Seong-mu Selected for Highest Grade in Manifesto Pledge Evaluation
Achieved for 2 Consecutive Years After First Recognition Since Last Year's Integration
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 26th that Mayor Heo Seong-mu was selected as the local government head who best fulfilled promises for two consecutive years in the "National Basic Local Government Heads' Pledge Implementation Evaluation" by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters.
The Korea Manifesto Evaluation Group conducted an evaluation from March on 226 cities, counties, and districts nationwide, assessing five areas: pledge completion, 2019 pledge goal achievement, resident communication, web communication, and pledge consistency, classifying them into five grades from SA to D.
Mayor Heo received an SA grade in the comprehensive evaluation by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters last year, the first since the integration, and achieved the highest performance by receiving the top grade for two consecutive years this year.
The city formed a citizen pledge evaluation group last year, allowing residents to directly assess the pledge progress and derive improvement measures, thereby enhancing communication with citizens and transparency in result disclosure. The city also received favorable evaluations by providing information on pledge progress tailored to residents' perspectives through card news production and other means.
Heo Seong-mu, Mayor of Changwon City, emphasized, "Pledges are promises to citizens and a matter of trust," adding, "I will sincerely keep the pledges while communicating with citizens during the remaining term."
