Over 400 Companies Apply to Participate in the 'KB Good Job Online Job Fair'
KB Kookmin Bank's Online Job Connection Project
[Asia Economy Reporter Kangwook Cho] KB Kookmin Bank announced on the 25th that about 400 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and mid-sized companies have applied to participate in the '2020 KB Good Job Excellent Companies Online Job Fair,' which will be held for two weeks from the 1st to the 12th of next month.
'KB Good Job,' KB Kookmin Bank's representative social contribution project, is a job connection initiative ambitiously launched in 2011 to activate employment for young job seekers and to resolve recruitment difficulties faced by SMEs and mid-sized companies. Since its launch, a total of 16 job fairs have been successfully held, with about 310,000 job seekers and 2,900 companies participating, making it the largest single-scale fair. This year, to comply with social distancing measures for COVID-19 prevention, the job fair will be held in a non-face-to-face, untact format.
This 'KB Good Job Job Fair' has expanded its scale from about 200 participating companies in previous years to 300 companies by holding the event online. As of the application deadline on the 22nd, about 400 companies have applied to participate, showing strong enthusiasm from the preparation stage.
In particular, based on strong networking with partner organizations, which is KB Good Job's greatest strength, it is expected that the participation of excellent companies recommended by KB Kookmin Bank, as well as large company partners recommended by the Win-Win Growth Committee, excellent members of the Korea International Trade Association and the Korea Industrial Technology Promotion Association, and KOSDAQ-listed companies will lead to increased participation of young job seekers.
Additionally, KB Kookmin Bank plans to actively support companies' manpower shortages by providing the same benefits to online participating companies as those offered at on-site fairs. The 'KB Good Job Interest Rate Preferential Program' offers a preferential interest rate within a maximum range of 1.3%p when participating companies apply for new loans at KB Kookmin Bank, and the 'KB Good Job Hiring Support Fund' provides 1 million KRW per hired regular employee (up to 10 million KRW per company) to companies that hire regular employees through the job fair. These supports to alleviate financial and labor cost burdens for SMEs will be provided equally as in on-site fairs.
