Air Busan Installs Automatic Hand Sanitizers... Strengthening 'Untact' Measures at Airports and Onboard
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Air Busan announced on the 25th that it will expand and strengthen health safety measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
As part of this effort, starting today, Air Busan will install and operate automatic hand sanitizers at all boarding gates in domestic airports. The company had also installed thermal imaging cameras at all domestic airport locations last month to conduct its own fever screenings.
Furthermore, Air Busan will strengthen contactless (Untact) procedures throughout the entire process from ticketing to boarding after arriving at the airport. First, floor markings will be placed at 1-meter intervals in front of ticket counters to encourage social distancing between customers. Additionally, hand sanitizing before boarding, self-check-in with boarding pass recognition, and mandatory mask-wearing onboard will be implemented.
Moreover, measures such as keeping the middle seats empty and continuously disinfecting frequently used onboard facilities (such as restrooms), which were previously conducted, will be carried out more thoroughly to fundamentally block onboard infections.

President Han Tae-geun stated, "We believe that the criteria for using and choosing airlines will change due to the COVID-19 situation, so we plan to prepare infection prevention onboard as a key pillar of management. We will take all necessary measures to ensure that Air Busan passengers can use our services with peace of mind from ticketing to arrival at their destination."
