Sejong Institute Trains Korean Language Teachers in Vietnam, Turkey, and More
On the 20th, the Sejong Institute Foundation announced that it will train 100 local residents as Korean language teachers in four countries: Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and Turkey. Director Kang Hyun-hwa stated, "Due to the influence of Hallyu and other factors, Korean language teachers are recognized as a popular profession locally," and added, "Since Korean language education helps create an environment where it can sustainably thrive in these countries, we plan to expand this project." The training courses will begin in mid-June in Vietnam and Indonesia, next month in Turkey, and in August in India. The program consists of 120 hours of lectures, 20 hours of mock teaching, and class observations. Outstanding participants will have the opportunity to work as trainee teachers at Sejong Institute for three months. An official mentioned, "We also plan to implement this in the United States next year."
