Daejeon 'Safe Village Creation' Phase 2 Project Promotion
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City will launch the ‘2020 Safe Village Creation Phase 2 Project’ starting from the 6th of next month.
On the 20th, the city announced the Phase 2 project plan for Safe Village Creation. The project is primarily focused on solving local safety issues centered around village communities.
The Phase 2 project emphasizes strengthening the cooperative linkage between the Social Capital Support Center and the Administrative Welfare Center, and enhancing the effectiveness and practicality of the Safe Village Creation project through meticulous follow-up management.
The Social Capital Support Center will take charge of support throughout the entire process, from project planning to follow-up management, including discovering tasks, connecting resources, and dispatching coordinators.
Additionally, by monitoring and evaluating the follow-up status after the project’s completion and providing additional project funds, it helps ensure that the Safe Village project can serve as a safety hub in each region.
In particular, this year the city plans to increase the support amount per Safe Village project to a maximum of 50 million KRW, supporting about 10 projects with a total of 500 million KRW, aiming to diversify project content and boost resident participation.
Park Wol-hoon, Director of the Citizen Safety Office of the city, said, "We hope the Safe Village Creation project will become a catalyst for creating a safer Daejeon centered on each village community.”
