According to Chungnam fire authorities on the 19th, the fire occurred around 2:25 PM at the catalyst packaging room inside the LG Chem Catalyst Operation Center.
After receiving the fire report, the fire department dispatched 19 fire trucks and 107 personnel to the scene and completed extinguishing the fire around 3:31 PM.
However, Mr. Lee (40) died in the accident, and Mr. Yang (27) and Mr. Hong (47) suffered burns and are receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

The fire authorities believe the fire was caused by an explosion of unknown origin and plan to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
