Sandangong, 'Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund' Private Business Operator Recruitment
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 19th that it is recruiting private businesses to participate in the '2020 Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund.'
This recruitment of private businesses is being promoted to strengthen the competitiveness of industrial complexes and improve working and residential environments. The public offering is scheduled until July 8 this year.
The Industrial Complex Environmental Improvement Fund is a project that builds facilities necessary for environmental improvement and industry upgrading of aging industrial complexes by attracting private investment funds based on government fund contributions. Over the past nine years, it has invested 637 billion KRW of government resources in 44 projects such as knowledge industry centers and worker officetels, generating a total of 3.3074 trillion KRW in new investments.
This year, the fund's investment targets include 32 national industrial complexes such as Seoul Digital, Namdong, and Banwol-Sihwa; 124 general industrial complexes including Daegu Seongseo and Busan Sinpyeong Jangnim; and 15 industrial complexes in COVID-19 special disaster areas.
Investment areas include industrial cluster upgrading (advanced factories, knowledge industry centers, logistics facilities, etc.), residential convenience and culture (dormitory-type officetels, cultural and convention facilities, etc.), and industrial infrastructure (water supply, transportation, communication, energy support facilities, etc.).
The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation plans to focus on smart business sectors and restructuring site development through collaboration with public and private businesses to revitalize manufacturing, moving beyond mainly real estate development projects.
