Jeongeup Office of Education Delivers Eco-Friendly Agricultural Produce Packages to Students' Homes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Myung-jin] Jeonbuk Jeongeup Office of Education (Superintendent Kim Su-bong) announced on the 19th that, due to the delay in school reopening caused by the spread of COVID-19, they actively provided various packages to students in each area to support customized learning and student life.
The meal team, in response to the suspension of school meals due to COVID-19, collaborated with eco-friendly farms and local processing companies, as well as Jeongeup Office of Education, Jeongeup City, and Jeongeup City School Meal Support Center, to supply eco-friendly agricultural product packages worth approximately 32,000 KRW per person to 11,663 kindergarten, elementary, middle, high school, and special education students within Jeongeup.
The agricultural product packages were delivered to each household via courier from the 7th to the 10th of this month and consisted of eco-friendly rice, mixed grains (glutinous barley and glutinous brown rice), and eco-friendly agricultural products from the province (shiitake mushrooms, spinach, new potatoes, new onions).
The Wee Center conducted the ‘Wise Family Life’ project from the 6th to the 14th of last month to support communication among family members.
To prevent and heal psychological and emotional anxiety caused by COVID-19 and to foster a culture of communication and empathy within families, the Jeongeup Office of Education (Wee Center) delivered lucky box packages consisting of cooking, play, emotion, health, and information guides to 50 families receiving counseling.
Through the lucky box packages, they not only suggested ways to spend time wisely with family but also plan to continuously support healthy family life by conducting phone counseling, monitoring daily routines, and sharing certification photos and reviews.
The Special Education Support Center produced and delivered ‘Home Play Learning Packages’ to prevent learning loss and provide individualized customized learning according to the characteristics of special education students.
The target was 221 special education students in kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high schools within Jeongeup, and personalized packages were created with 10 types (about 50,000 KRW) according to school level and proficiency.
In addition to hand sanitizers, puzzles and blocks, coloring books, glass colors, round colored pencils, and colored paper, surprise gifts such as Coco Ball and Kinder Joy were included to bring smiles and happiness to tired students and parents.
The Educational Welfare Team provided food, daily necessities, hygiene products, glasses, and career-related items tailored to students to 40 families in welfare blind spots among students of 10 schools not prioritized for educational welfare support.
