Doosan Infracore Launches Smart Construction Solution 'SiteCloud'
First Phase of Commercialization for Construction Site Unmanned and Automated Integrated Control Solution 'Concept X'
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Doosan Infracore announced on the 19th that it has launched 'SiteCloud,' a smart construction solution that maximizes productivity by completing construction surveying and earthwork volume calculation within 1 to 2 days.
SiteCloud is the first commercialization phase of 'Concept-X,' a comprehensive unmanned and automated construction site control solution that Doosan Infracore successfully demonstrated for the first time in the world last year. With this, Doosan Infracore has created an opportunity to expand its business scope from manufacturing and selling construction machinery equipment to managing construction sites.
SiteCloud is an earthwork management solution that integrates 3D drone surveying, earthwork volume calculation, and construction planning into a dedicated cloud platform to establish optimal work plans and support efficient on-site operations.
By using SiteCloud, various dispersed tasks such as surveying, terrain analysis, equipment operation, and construction management can be integrated and managed on a single platform, reducing costs and time while increasing work accuracy, Doosan Infracore explained. This solution enables the digitalization of earthwork site information in 3D and even allows for bedrock analysis.
Because SiteCloud is cloud-based, it facilitates collaboration and progress management among construction companies, clients, and other stakeholders involved in the project. It can analyze vast amounts of site data quickly and precisely, making construction surveying and earthwork volume calculation, which traditionally took about two weeks, possible within 1 to 2 days.
Doosan Infracore has completed technology verification of SiteCloud at more than 10 domestic and international construction sites, including large apartment complexes and infrastructure facilities. At an urban redevelopment site in the metropolitan area, SiteCloud analyzed unexpected underground bedrock and calculated construction volumes, significantly aiding construction companies and clients in negotiating adjustments to construction plans, Doosan Infracore explained. Additionally, at a pilot site in Peru, South America, ahead of a large-scale mine development, it provided regular drone surveying and precise construction management.
Doosan Infracore plans to expand the use of SiteCloud to large-scale construction equipment operation by utilizing 5G communication technology and telematics. Following its domestic market launch, it also plans to target overseas markets.
