LF Expands Distribution Network with 'LF Mall Store' Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Lifestyle culture company LF (CEO Kyusik Oh) announced on the 19th that it will actively expand the distribution network of the O4O concept ‘LF Mall Store,’ which was launched in October last year to maximize the synergy effect between its official online shopping mall LF Mall and offline distribution.
Since October last year, LF has renewed and reopened its GS Gangnam Tower flagship store, a representative comprehensive street store in the Gangnam area of Seoul, as ‘LF Mall Store,’ a new brand of integrated online and offline stores with the slogan ‘Comfortable in-store, cheaper online, faster at home.’ Since then, it has converted four additional street stores, including Gwangju Sangmu Branch, into LF Mall Stores.
The five LF Mall Stores currently in operation, including the GS Gangnam Tower store, have recorded an average sales growth rate of 70% compared to the same period last year after the renewal, and the average number of purchasing customers has also increased about threefold. This is a meaningful achievement despite adverse conditions such as the normalization of contactless shopping due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the prolonged domestic economic recession causing the decline of street commercial districts.
In particular, LF Mall Store features an innovative attempt to display only products with a single style, single color, and single size in the store, providing a more comfortable shopping environment for visiting customers. It naturally induces middle-aged and older customers, who are less familiar with online shopping, to access LF Mall using tablet PCs placed throughout the store, thereby simultaneously enhancing shopping satisfaction both in offline stores and online malls.
LF Mall Store serves as a store where customers can pick up products they ordered online. After ordering products through the LF Mall app, customers can request pickup at the LF Mall Store and collect their purchased items at the store. Additionally, customers who visit the store without prior pickup requests on LF Mall can always purchase products at LF Mall’s benefit prices at LF Mall Store.
Unlike existing offline street stores, LF Mall Store displays LF Mall’s online-exclusive brands (PB) and products such as Hazzys Peaceline, JSNY, and Il Corso, allowing customers to directly experience online-exclusive products in the store. Customers who pick up products at the store after ordering online are rewarded with 2,500 mileage points that can be used like cash on LF Mall.
Furthermore, LF Mall Store provides a ‘steam cleaning service’ sufficient for customers to wear the picked-up products immediately upon leaving the store. It also offers various benefits such as immediate free return service, instant repair and styling, and premium packaging service on a regular basis.
Meanwhile, LF plans to expand the LF Mall Store, which is enjoying significant synergy effects with LF Mall through innovative attempts, to 50 stores by the end of next year. This month alone, four stores including Pohang Branch, Cheongju Branch, Gwangju Yongbong Branch, and Gwangju Heukseok Branch will be newly renewed and opened.
