[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Junho] The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) International Environmental Research Center is co-hosting G-STIC 2020, an international event discussing sustainable technologies and innovations in climate change, education, energy, and health, together with world-renowned research institutions.
At this event, GIST will oversee climate-related topics primarily through its Department of Earth Environment Engineering and the International Environmental Research Center. Discussions will focus on the dissemination and activation strategies of climate adaptation technologies, climate services, the distribution and expansion of mitigation and adaptation technologies, and carbon resource utilization.
Kim Kyung-woong, Director of the International Environmental Research Center, stated, "Through co-hosting G-STIC 2020, we hope that GIST's outstanding research achievements will be recognized as solutions for achieving global sustainable development goals," adding, "We expect this to be a great opportunity to expand joint research based on GIST's leading role in water, climate services, and carbon resource utilization."
