Court Sentences 60-Year-Old Woman to 500,000 Won Fine for Insulting Security Guard
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] While the police investigation is ongoing regarding a resident who drove a security guard to death through assault and verbal abuse in an apartment in Seoul, a court has ruled guilty of insult against a resident who verbally abused the security guard.
On the 18th, according to the court, Judge Lee Seong-jin of Criminal Division 10 at the Busan District Court sentenced A (66, female), who was charged with insult, to a fine of 500,000 won.
Judge Lee explained the sentencing reason, stating, "The defendant denied the crime until the final trial, causing the victim to testify in court, showing a bad nature of the crime, and considering the defendant’s prior record of similar offenses."
A, who lives in a villa in Busan, was known to have had ongoing conflicts with the wife of B, a security guard working in the same villa.
