[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) had suspended the operation of the in-house cafeteria since March 19 to revitalize the local economy, which had been weakened due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.
With the resumption of operations from May 25, the district began improving the environment of the in-house cafeteria located underground, which is vulnerable to infections.
In particular, to prevent COVID-19 infections, the district focused on ventilation by removing partition walls, securing ventilation windows, and replacing exhaust fans.
Additionally, partial repairs of floor tiles, wallpapering and painting, and electrical work were carried out to complete overall environmental improvements.
The district plans to conduct regular disinfection and sterilization of the cafeteria to prevent infections going forward.
