Bucheon-si Operates 'Walk-Through' Screening Clinic for COVID-19 Response
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City in Gyeonggi Province has started operating walk-through screening clinics at Bucheon City Health Center and Ojeong Health Center in response to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) originating from Itaewon clubs.
The city began operating the walk-through screening clinics to prepare for the increasing demand, as the number of people undergoing screening tests, including contacts of confirmed patients, rose following the confirmed case on the 10th, and the number of tests on the 13th was approximately 300, about three times higher than the first week of May.
To encourage voluntary testing among visitors to clubs and pubs in the Itaewon area, anonymous testing was initiated, and on the first day of operation, the 14th, about 400 tests were swiftly conducted, more than 100 tests higher than the previous day.
