Out-of-School Youth, Get Health Checkups Every 3 Years... Email Application Available
Receive applications on the Kkumdream homepage and submit documents
Youth requiring treatment after examination may receive additional support
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Out-of-school youths aged 9 to 18 can receive a free health checkup and are eligible for another checkup after 3 years (the regular checkup cycle) have passed.
The Ministry of Gender Equality and Family announced on the 17th that this year, by improving the application methods and guidance for checkups, out-of-school youths can receive health checkups more quickly and conveniently.
Previously, applications were only accepted by mail at the Out-of-School Youth Support Center, but starting this year, email applications are also possible. Out-of-school youths who wish to receive a checkup can download the application form from the Kkumdream website and submit it via email to the Out-of-School Youth Support Center along with the required documents.
The time to receive the checkup form has also been significantly reduced from 4 weeks to 1 week. If low-income youths require treatment after the checkup, additional support is available. Treatment support for dental, internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and other services for out-of-school youths is available at six national veterans hospitals nationwide, including the Central Veterans Hospital.
