Shinsegae Department Store Launches 'Dosirak Curated Store' Featuring 60 Types of Premium Dosirak
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Shinsegae Department Store is launching the industry's first lunchbox curated store.
Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 17th that it will showcase the "Shinsegae Spring Lunchbox" in a pop-up format at the food hall on the B1 floor of the Gangnam branch until the 28th. Eight brands, already recognized for their taste at Shinsegae Department Store, are participating, bringing together a total of 60 premium lunchboxes.
All products are exclusive to Shinsegae Department Store. Customers can conveniently compare and purchase various lunchboxes in one place without having to visit multiple stores to find their preferred option.
Especially now, when interest in hygiene is higher than ever, the products have been carefully selected so customers can eat with peace of mind. All items are handmade lunchboxes prepared directly in-store, not mass-produced factory-made products.
Additionally, Shinsegae Department Store’s food buyers and researchers from the Product Science Research Institute thoroughly check the ingredients inside the lunchboxes, including the origin of ingredients and sauce additives, raising the standards for safe food consumption.
The products available at the lunchbox store include sushi rolls made with rice milled within 7 days, natural food lunchboxes containing fresh seasonal side dishes and healthy nutritious yakbap (sweet rice cake), and handmade pork cutlet and skewer lunchboxes made only with domestic refrigerated pork and chicken?items comparable to homemade meals.
The selection covers Korean, Japanese, Western, and Southeast Asian cuisines such as Vietnamese, catering to various tastes, and salad lunchboxes are also prepared for customers seeking a light meal.
Sales management is thorough. During the operation of the lunchbox curated store, food hygiene monitoring staff regularly check optimal storage temperatures, expiration dates, and the hygiene of each brand’s cooking area.
Representative products include the "Wando Abalone Stone Pot Rice Lunchbox" made with premium rice cultivated with organic fertilizer in Uiseong, Gyeongbuk, priced at 9,900 KRW, and Lee Kyung’s "Sweet Lunchbox" containing domestic wild greens and nutritious sticky rice, priced at 13,000 KRW.
