Second Infection Case at Gangnam-gu Itaewon Club (42-Year-Old Australian Male) Detected

With this, the total number of confirmed cases in Gangnam-gu has increased to 71.
A 42-year-old Australian male living in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, who had contact with a confirmed case that tested positive on the 14th after visiting the Itaewon club, began experiencing muscle pain from the 14th and underwent specimen testing at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center, resulting in a positive diagnosis on the morning of the 15th.
Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, stated, "Residents who recently visited the Itaewon club or received testing request messages from Seoul City are assured that their personal information will be strictly protected. Please do not worry and respond promptly to testing with the spirit of ‘Mimiwi Gangnam,’ which emphasizes cooperation, consideration, and respect."
In response to the rapid nationwide spread of COVID-19 cluster infections originating from the Itaewon club through facilities such as karaoke rooms, Gangnam-gu has organized 10 special joint inspection teams to focus on multi-use facilities including adult PC rooms, DVD rooms, and multi-rooms to protect the health and safety of residents.
Residents are urged to maintain a 2-meter distance, wear masks, and wash their hands thoroughly in daily life.
