Ride a Bicycle from Manguri Hill in Jungnang-gu to the Han River
Construction of 385m Bicycle and Pedestrian Paths from Manguri Park to Mangu Ridge in Jungnang-gu: Enhancing Safety with Improved Visibility on Steep, High-Traffic Mangu Ridge... Connecting Previously Disconnected Bicycle Paths between Jungnang-gu and Guri City to the Han River...
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] "It was inconvenient because there was no bike path near Mangu Ridge, but now I’m so excited that I can ride straight from Jungnang-gu to the Han River!"
These are the words of a cyclist.
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) announced that it will construct a 385-meter-long bike path connecting in front of Manguri Park to Mangu Ridge.
The newly established Mangu-ro bike path will be a shared path for both cyclists and pedestrians, converting part of the existing sidewalk into a bike path to ensure safe passage for both cyclists and pedestrians. Construction will begin in mid-May and is expected to be completed by the end of June. This will connect the previously disconnected bike paths between Jungnang-gu and Guri City, allowing riders to reach the Han River.
Mangu Ridge was a place with steep slopes and heavy vehicle traffic, posing a high risk of accidents for cyclists. The new bike path is expected to alleviate these safety concerns to some extent. The district plans to enhance safety by improving visibility with traffic safety signs, road markings, and colored anti-slip pavement.
There are a total of 11 bike paths in Jungnang-gu, including Jungnangcheon-ro, Mukdongcheon-ro, Sinnae-ro, and Bonghwasan-ro 45-gil. The district also plans to continuously work to make Jungnang-gu more bike-friendly by expanding the number of Ddareungi rental stations from the current 52 to 70 this month.
