Future Korea Party Convention Postponed to 26th... 'Merger Speed' by the End of This Month
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] The Future Korea Party has postponed the party convention schedule for extending the party leader's term from the 19th to the 26th.
On the 15th, the Future Korea Party held an executive meeting at the National Assembly and announced that it decided this according to the consensus gathered at the meeting with elected members.
Originally, the Future Korea Party planned to hold the party convention on the 19th to indefinitely extend the current leader Won Yu-cheol's term "until the merger with the United Future Party."
However, since discussions on the merger began the day before and the possibility of a merger increased, they decided to observe the discussion situation until the 26th and determine whether an extension of the term is necessary.
The Future Korea Party agreed to speed up the merger with the United Future Party by the 29th but to ensure that the extension period does not exceed a maximum of three months (until August 30).
