Jeonju Wansan Fire Station, 119 Calls Now Enter the 'Video Call' Era...
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Gominhyung] The era of multi-channel reporting has opened, allowing 119 emergency calls to be made not only by phone but also through apps (APP) and other means.
Jeonbuk Jeonju Wansan Fire Station (Chief An Junsik) announced on the 15th that to ensure rapid response to various disasters such as fires, rescues, and emergency medical services, they are promoting the '119 Multi-Channel Reporting Service' which utilizes not only voice calls but also video calls, text messages, and apps.
This follows a notable case on the 8th in Gyeongnam where a 40-year-old father who suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed was saved through 'video call CPR' between a firefighter and his elementary school-aged son, which led to increased inquiries about 'video call reporting.'
Accordingly, the fire station has actively promoted the '119 Multi-Channel Reporting Service' using electronic display boards and other means.
The '119 Multi-Channel Reporting Service' allows reporting not only via video calls but also through text messages and apps, enabling more accurate communication of emergency situations for those who have difficulty with verbal communication, such as the hearing impaired, or when voice calls are difficult.
To report via app, users can download the '119 Reporting App,' select the reporting service, and send it; GPS location information is then transmitted to the 119 control center, allowing precise location confirmation of the reporter.
Additionally, text message reports are received when a message is sent to the 119 number after inputting the text, and photos or videos can also be sent together.
