Gyeonggi Province Affiliated Organizations and Export Companies Association Sign Export Support Agreement for SMEs
[Asia Economy (Pyeongtaek) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Public institutions under Gyeonggi Province and export-related business organizations have joined hands to revitalize exports of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) within Gyeonggi Province.
The Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science, Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority, Gyeonggi Agricultural and Food Distribution Promotion Institute, and Gyeonggi Exporters Association, four organizations, signed a "Business Agreement for Promoting SME Export Trade and Market Development" on the 14th at the Pyeongtaek Port Marine Center, agreeing to cooperate in supporting SME exports.
According to the agreement, the Institute of Economic Science will actively utilize its overseas offices (GBC) that support market development for SMEs, providing domestic and international exhibition hosting, overseas marketing support, and offering local port and logistics information abroad to SMEs in the province.
The Pyeongtaek Port Authority will provide convenience for Gyeonggi Province SMEs using Pyeongtaek Port, and the Agricultural and Food Distribution Promotion Institute will carry out export-related tasks in the agricultural and food sector, such as building a database of agricultural and food export companies in Gyeonggi Province and operating an export consultation center.
The Gyeonggi Exporters Association will promote the export support projects of each institution to its member companies.
In particular, the signatory organizations plan to actively exchange information by holding regular meetings to support SME exports.
Kim Ki-jun, president of the Gyeonggi Institute of Economic Science, emphasized, "In the difficult trade environment caused by the slump in exports due to the impact of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), multiple institutions have come together to revitalize SME exports. We will do our best to help SMEs achieve good results despite the challenging export conditions."
