Seoul Gangseo-gu Creates Calendar Reflecting the Future of Child-Friendly City
Call for Submissions of Works by Children and Adolescents Until June 26
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangseo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Noh Hyun-song) announced that it will create a calendar reflecting the voices of children and adolescents and the future of a child-friendly city.
This project was prepared to gather the expectations and wishes of children regarding a child-friendly city into a calendar and to create a more child-friendly environment.
The contest theme is "Gangseo-gu, a Child-Friendly City as I Imagine It," and any children and adolescents under 18 years old residing in the area or attending schools within the district can participate.
The work specifications are as follows: for text, within 100 characters including spaces and punctuation; for drawings, within one A4 size sheet (210mm x 297mm).
Children and adolescents wishing to participate can submit their entries by visiting the Education and Youth Division in person, by mail (Gangseo-gu, Hwagok-ro 302, Gangseo-gu Office Annex 5th floor), or by email (hsy2019@gangseo.seoul.kr) by June 26.
Participants may submit both text and drawings or only one of the two. However, only one entry per category per person is allowed.
Submitted works will be judged in July through voting by the Child Participation Committee, selecting two cover artworks (front and back) and twelve matching texts and drawings for each month.
The results will be announced in August on the Children's District Office website and individually notified. Certificates will be sent by mail without a separate award ceremony.
Additionally, 2,000 calendars will be produced and distributed to selected artists, participants, schools, and public institutions to promote the future of child-friendly Gangseo.
